GWINNETT, Ga. (AP) — Rio Ruiz homered twice and tripled, driving home four runs and scoring a couple as the Gwinnett Braves defeated the Rochester Red Wings 5-1 on Saturday.

Emilio Bonifacio tripled twice for Gwinnett.

Gwinnett went up 5-0 in the fifth after Ruiz hit a three-run home run.

Gwinnett southpaw Jed Bradley (1-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Omar Bencomo (1-1) took the loss in the International League game after allowing five runs and nine hits over 5 1/3 innings.
